ClipCaptioner is the video editor you talk to. "Cut the boring parts." "Add captions." "Make it vertical." It just does it — right in your browser, no sign-up needed to try.
Not a toy trimmer — a complete editing suite that lives in your browser.
Type "cut the silences" or "add captions" — the AI performs real edits on your timeline, with undo.
Word-by-word animated captions in 6 viral styles, auto-transcribed and burned into your export.
One tap: finds your hook, cuts dead air, adds captions, reframes vertical. Review every change.
Video, captions, and text tracks. Drag to trim, tap to split, rearrange segments.
0.25×–3× per segment, slow-mo highlights, full reverse playback.
Brightness, contrast, saturation, B&W, vintage, cinematic — plus transitions between clips.
Animated text overlays, emoji stickers, positioned anywhere, timed to the frame.
Volume, fade in/out, silence removal, background music mixing.
16:9 → 9:16 → 1:1 with face tracking that keeps your subject centered.
From raw clip to viral video in under a minute.
Drop any video from your phone. No account needed to start.
Tell the AI what you want — or use the full timeline and tool panels.
One button renders everything: captions burned in, audio mixed, ready to post.
Real workflows, unreal speed.
"I said 'cut the boring parts and add captions' and it just... did it. My editing time went from 40 minutes to 4."
"The karaoke captions look exactly like the big accounts. Clients think I hired an editor."
"Finally an editor that works on my phone's browser without installing a 200MB app."

No. You can edit and export without signing up. An account lets you save projects and sync across devices.
MP4 (H.264 + AAC) in 16:9, 9:16, or 1:1 — ready for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and YouTube.
Free forever for core editing. No credit card. No install.
Every tool, explained. Everything runs in your browser.
Open the chat, describe the edit in plain words. "Remove silences," "add karaoke captions," "make it 30 seconds," "vertical for TikTok," "slow down the middle." Each command executes a real timeline operation — segments are cut, captions generated, speeds changed — and every action is undoable. Try "undo" any time.
Three ways to get captions: Auto-transcribe (on-device AI speech recognition with word-level timing), tap-along (play the video, tap to mark each line's timing as you type), and manual/SRT import. Six styles: karaoke pop, glow, typewriter, bounce, classic, minimal. Captions are burned into the exported video — verified frame by frame.
Video track with draggable segment edges, tap-to-split at the playhead, per-segment speed and reverse. Caption and text tracks with timed blocks. A ruler, playhead scrubbing, and a live preview that always matches the export.
Filters (B&W, vintage, cinematic, warm, cool, vivid), rotate/flip, aspect ratios (9:16, 16:9, 1:1) with smart reframe, and fade transitions between segments.
Volume, fade in/out, mute, automatic silence detection and removal, and background music upload mixed under your video.
One button runs the full pipeline: transcribe → cut silences → find the most energetic moment as the hook → apply karaoke captions → suggest vertical reframe. You review and approve every change.
Start free. Upgrade when you're going viral.

Last updated: November 4, 2026. This policy explains what information ClipCaptioner handles when you use clipcaptioner.com.
ClipCaptioner processes everything in your browser — editing, transcription, and rendering all run on your device. We do not upload, store, or view your footage, and your media is never sent to our servers.
Project timelines, captions and settings are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) so you can reopen them later. If you create an account, that account is also stored on this device only in the current release. Clearing your browser data deletes this information permanently.
Some editor components — such as caption styles, transcription models and media libraries — load from public content-delivery networks when you open the editor. Those networks receive your IP address and browser details as part of serving the files, the same as loading any web page.
ClipCaptioner is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. Blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings will not stop ads from appearing, but they will no longer be personalized using those cookies — and the editor will keep working.
The editor includes no third-party analytics or tracking scripts. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first and the change described here.
ClipCaptioner is a general-audience creative tool. It is not directed at children under 13, and because accounts and projects stay on your own device, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.

ClipCaptioner provides browser-based video editing tools. You retain all rights to content you create.
Do not use the service to create content that infringes others' rights or violates the law. You are responsible for having rights to the media you edit.
ClipCaptioner is provided free of charge, "as is", without warranties of any kind. Features may be added, changed or removed over time. Videos you export are yours to keep and use, including commercially, subject to your rights in the media you edited.
ClipCaptioner is a free, browser-based video editor with an AI assistant you talk to in plain words. It was built for creators who shoot on a phone and publish to TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook — people who need captions, clean cuts and the right shape for each platform without installing heavy software or uploading private footage to a stranger's server.
Everything runs on your own device. You open the editor, choose a video, and describe the edit — "remove the silences", "add karaoke captions", "make it 30 seconds", "vertical for TikTok". ClipCaptioner performs the edit on a real timeline: captions are generated with on-device speech recognition, segments are cut and arranged, and the finished video is rendered in your browser and downloaded to your device. Your footage is never uploaded to us.
Auto captions with word-level timing in six styles, an AI chat editor, a full timeline with trim, split, speed and reverse, filters and reframing for 9:16, 16:9 and 1:1, silence removal, background music mixing, and one-button "Make It Viral" preparation for short-form platforms. The core editor is free, with no watermark on exports.
ClipCaptioner is an independent project operated by the same small team behind the Rig Toolbox and Earn My License driver-resource sites. We build practical tools, keep them free to use, and support them with advertising rather than by selling user data — there is no user footage or personal media for us to sell, because it never leaves your device.
Every feature described on this site is a feature the editor actually performs. If something on a page here is wrong or out of date, tell us through the contact page and we will fix it.
The fastest way to reach the ClipCaptioner team is email:
For a bug: what you were trying to do, the step where it failed, and your device and browser. For a feature request: the edit you wish the AI understood. For a correction to anything on this site: the page and what is wrong. We read every message; bug reports from real edits are what the next version gets built from.
Because your videos and projects never leave your device, we cannot recover a lost project, view a video you edited, or access your account — clearing your browser data removes them permanently. Support can explain how things work, but the files themselves live only with you.
Upload a video and the AI editor takes it from there — captions, cuts, viral styles.
